The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, commonly known as NEET, is an entrance examination for admission of undergraduate medical, dental and AYUSH Courses like BAMS, BHMS, BUMS in India. The responsibility to conduct NEET examination is on National Testing Agency (NTA) and the results of NEET 2024 will be used to grant admission to colleges across India.

NEET 2024 will take place on the 5th of May 2024 as per the latest announcement by NTA. Examination will be conducted in offline mode; OMR Sheets are given to students to fill their choice of answers. The duration of the examination will be 3 hours 20 minutes and it will consist of 200 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). There will be 20 optional questions, this new pattern started from the year 2021, earlier it used to be of 180 question and duration was of 3 hours. The total marks for the examination are 720 and 4 marks for each correct answer, whereas,1 mark will be subtracted for every incorrect answer.

The minimum age of candidate, as on December 31, 2024, should be of 17 years to appear for NEET 2024, and must have successfully cleared Class 12th or equivalent examination in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology. English should be there as compulsory subjects. Minimum 50% should be scored by the General Category candidates to qualify the exam and 40% should be by the students from reserved categories.

The candidates can apply for NEET 2024 through the NTA’s website https://neet.nta.nic.in. The application process may start from mid of February 2024 and the candidates will be required to submit their application along with the required documents and application fee. 

The NEET 2024 Admit Card will be available for download from the second or third week of April 2024. There will be instructions for candidates related to examination day like, they will be required to carry the Admit Card printout along with a valid photo ID proof to the examination center on the day of the examination. Generally, within 2 months, the NEET results are declared. So, accordingly the results of NEET 2024 should be declared by last week of June 2024 and the rank list will be prepared based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the examination.
