Karnataka PG 2025 Round 3 Final Result: Provisional vs Final Cut-off & What Students Should Do Next

The Karnataka PG Medical Round 3 counselling went through a lot of uncertainty due to the court case and petitions.
Round 3 was stuck for many days, and students were confused about what would finally happen.

Now:

  • Provisional result (old list) was released earlier

  • Final result has now been published after court intervention

In this blog, we will:

  • Compare Provisional vs Final cut-offs (where change is significant)

  • See which government and private colleges saw major changes

  • Understand how OK quota (higher fee seats) was affected

  • Explain what students should do now (payment + reporting dates)

1️⃣ Background: Why Was Round 3 Stuck?

  • Multiple petitions were filed in court regarding Karnataka PG Round 3

  • Because of that, the matter got delayed and provisional allotment was under question

  • After court observation and directions, a fresh final Round 3 result has now been published

Now the key question is:
👉 How much difference is there between the earlier provisional cut-offs and the new final cut-offs?

Let’s see.

2️⃣ Government Quota Seats – Provisional vs Final Cut-off Changes

The final list shows some colleges with major score changes, while many others have minimal difference (1–2 marks).

🔹 Shyamaraj Nagar Institute of Medical Sciences

  • Provisional cut-off: 393

  • Final cut-off: 459

  • Change: +66 marks (significant increase)

This shows that after re-processing and corrections, higher scoring candidates finally occupied these seats.

🔹 Mysore Medical College (Government)

  • Provisional cut-off: 540

  • Final cut-off: around 400 (approx., large drop mentioned)

  • Change: About 140 marks lower

Here, the cut-off dropped sharply, which indicates that the original provisional allotment changed significantly after court intervention and reshuffling.

🔹 Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences

  • In the provisional list, there was no allotment for a particular seat.

  • In the final list, a new seat appeared with cut-off 396.

This means that one extra government seat effectively became available in the final processing.

🔹 Hassan Medical College

  • Provisional cut-off: 419 (as per list dated 24/10)

  • Final cut-off: 393

  • Change: −26 marks

A moderate downfall in cut-off, giving a chance to slightly lower scorers.

For other government medical colleges, there were either no changes or very small differences (1–2 marks), so they don’t impact overall planning much.

3️⃣ Private Medical Colleges (Lower Fee Segment) – Key Changes

Now let’s talk about private colleges where fees are comparatively lower and second-category students are also allowed.

Again, we only focus on places where double-digit changes are seen.

🔹 Kempegowda Institute

  • Provisional cut-off: 518 (example from narration – rank/score high)

  • Final cut-off: 475

  • Change: Around 43 marks drop

🔹 Dr B.R. Ambedkar Medical College

  • Provisional cut-off: 511

  • Final cut-off: 503

  • Change: −8 marks (small but noticeable)

🔹 S. Nijalingappa Medical College

  • Provisional cut-off: 488

  • Final cut-off: 465

  • Change: −23 marks

🔹 East Point Medical College

  • Provisional cut-off: 487

  • Final cut-off: 464

  • Change: −23 marks

🔹 Siddaganga Medical College

  • Provisional cut-off: 481

  • Final cut-off: 464

  • Change: −17 marks

🔹 Farooqia / Farooq Academy of Medical Education

  • Provisional cut-off: 448

  • Final cut-off: 395

  • Change: About −53 marks

🔹 P.E.S. Academy

  • Provisional cut-off: 426

  • Final cut-off: 374

  • Change: −52 marks

🔹 Kanachur Medical College

  • Provisional cut-off: 416

  • Final cut-off: 395

  • Change: −21 marks

🔹 Adichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences

  • Provisional cut-off: 323

  • Final cut-off: 235

  • Change: −88 marks (very big drop)

This is one of the largest falls in cut-off, clearly showing the impact of reshuffling and upgradation.

🔹 AJ Institute (Mangaluru)

  • Provisional cut-off: 278

  • Final cut-off: 259

  • Change: −19 marks

🔹 Sri Madhusudan / related private institute

  • Provisional cut-off: 256

  • Final cut-off: 238

  • Change: −18 marks

📌 Conclusion for Private Lower-Fee Colleges:
In many private institutions, cut-offs dropped, opening opportunities for students with lower scores to get seats in Round 3 after the final result.

4️⃣ Higher Fee Category – Big Downfalls in Cut-off

Now let’s look at the higher fee seats.

Here, the variation is even more visible, mainly because:

  • Many students got cheaper private seats in lower fee category

  • Those students upgraded, leaving seats vacant and forcing cut-offs down

Some key examples:

🔹 Raichur Institute

  • Provisional cut-off: 289

  • Final cut-off: 269

  • Change: −20 marks

🔹 Kempegowda

  • Provisional cut-off: 273

  • Final cut-off: 246

  • Change: −27 marks

🔹 Dr B.R. Ambedkar

  • Provisional cut-off: 263

  • Final cut-off: 238

  • Change: −25 marks

🔹 Al-Ameen Medical College

  • Provisional cut-off: 324

  • Final cut-off: 238

  • Change: −86 marks

This is one of the highest downfalls in the segment.

Similar downfalls in cut-off were also seen in:

  • Siddaganga

  • Vydehi

  • BGS Global

  • Dr Chandramma

  • Sri Chamundeshwari

  • Sapthagiri

  • Navodaya

  • Subbaiah

  • Adichunchanagiri

  • Akash

  • Shamanur and others

In some colleges (like Khwaja Bande Nawaz), cut-offs increased slightly, because student interest was high, so more high scorers preferred those colleges.

Overall, however, the dominant trend is decrease in cut-off.

5️⃣ What This Means for Students

✅ Lower-scoring students got a chance in Round 3 because:

  • Many high scorers upgraded from costlier seats to cheaper seats

  • Fresh processing after court directions reshuffled many allotments

  • In both private lower-fee and high-fee, cut-offs went down in multiple colleges

This is clearly beneficial for students, especially those who were on the borderline.

6️⃣ Next Steps for Karnataka PG Round 3 Students

Now that the final Round 3 result is out and the payment link is open, students must strictly follow these timelines:

  • Fee Payment:
👉 From 8th to 10th (as per official schedule)

  • Reporting to Allotted College:
    👉 Last date: 11th

If you do not pay fees within the deadline or fail to report to the college on time, your seat may be cancelled.

✅ Action Checklist

  • Check your final Round 3 allotment carefully

  • Confirm college, course, fee, and category

  • Arrange funds and complete online payment within given dates

  • Keep all original documents ready

  • Report to the allotted college before the last date

  • Take properly signed receipt & admission confirmation from the college

7️⃣ Need Help Understanding Your Options?
