Selection criteria

  • A separate merit list will be drawn to fill-up NRI quota seats through Centralized Counselling Committee on the basis of NEET-UG-2024 rank/score.
  • After the entire NRI category (NEET-UG-2024) qualified & eligible candidates get admitted, the remaining vacancies of NRI shall be filled-up with NRI sponsored category.

A route for NRI students to obtain medical seats in the state's universities is provided by the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota MBBS admissions in Karnataka. This quota is an aspect of the Indian government's larger initiative to meet the educational requirements of Indians living overseas and their offspring, guaranteeing them access to higher education in India.

The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) oversees Karnataka's NRI quota for MBBS admissions. This quota often reserves 15% of the total MBBS seats in private medical colleges. In the NRI quota MBBS Admission Karnataka Cutoff, candidates must have passed the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET), required of all Indian applicants seeking medical admissions and have finished their upper secondary education in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

NRI quota MBBS Admission Karnataka Fees is significantly higher compared to the regular seats. This higher fee is justified by the facilities and the additional expenses that the institutions incur. Admission under the NRI quota follows a merit-based system, albeit within the pool of NRI applicants. Candidates are required to submit proof of their NRI status, which generally includes documentation like a valid passport, visa, and proof of NRI parentage or sponsorship.

The NRI quota plays a crucial role in giving Indian students living overseas a realistic chance to complete their medical studies in India. It adds to Karnataka's medical institutions' diversity and international perspective and to the upkeep of ties with the Indian diaspora.
