HIMACHAL NRI QUOTA MBBS ADMISSION

Himachal is one of the most preferred State by many with reference to MBBS admission under NRI Quota. There are many reasons behind it. Weather Conditions, Demography of Himachal and the lowest fee under NRI quota is the major attraction for students.

NRI/Children of NRI who belong to the state of Himachal or NRI/Children of NRI who belong to an Indian State other than Himachal and also the NRI Sponsored students are allowed for MBBS admission in Himachal under NRI Quota.

The important points related MBBS Seats under NRI Quota in Himachal:

• Registration cum counseling fee of Rs. 2000/- (Rupees Two Thousand only) (Non-Refundable) shall be charged from NRI Students.

ELIGIBILITY

1. NRI Category: The NEET-UG -2024 qualified candidate who are claiming under NRI category shall satisfy the following:

                i. Applicant shall be NRI citizen by himself / herself.

               ii. Applicant parents shall be NRI and fulfil following criterion:-

                    (a). Holding the OCI/PIO/Permanent citizenship status with AP origin.

                    (b). Shall have the annual income sufficient to support the course of study of his/her ward.

2. NRI sponsored Category:  

                     . In the event of non-availability of adequate number of eligible NRI candidates who fulfill the aforesaid eligibility criteria, NRI sponsored candidates will be considered for allocation of seats in order of

                       merit –cum-preference of specialty and college subject to fulfillment of following conditions:- 

            i. The sponsor shall be blood relation to the applicant i.e. father, mother, brother or their children, sister or their children, maternal uncle or his children, maternal aunt or her children, paternal uncle or his

               children, paternal aunt or her children, maternal grandfather, maternal grandmother, paternal grandfather and paternal grandmother. The genealogical tree certificate (or) equivalent issued by the Tahsildar

               and above, for establishing the relationship of the sponsor and the applicant. Legally adopted child are also eligible.

           ii. NRI status certificate issued by the Indian embassy under seal (or) overseas citizen of India (OCI) (or) PIO status certificate issued by the competent authority.

          iii. Copy of the passport with valid visa.

          iv. The sponsor with student / visiting visa or temporary visa of any nature is not eligible to sponsor.

           v. Shall have the annual income sufficient to support the course of study of his/her ward.

MBBS NRI SEATS & FEES in Himachal:

The NRI students will have to give a Bank Guarantee/Surety Bond for the balance of fee, if they opt to pay the fee in instalment as provided.

PLEASE NOTE: REJECTION IN NRI CATEGORY IS VERY HIGH and MAJOR REASON IS INCOMPLETE OR INACCURATE DOCUMENTS.

1. Equivalency Certificate issued by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, if applicable.
2. Conversion Certificate of grading to percentage of marks, if applicable.

Cut-off of NRI Quota in Himachal

1. Cut off in Government Medical Colleges under NRI Quota in Himachal – Based on preferences cut-off varies in Government Medical Colleges under NRI Quota in Himachal. Generally, Government Medical Colleges seats of NRI Quota get filled around 400+ NEET Score.

• Cut off in Private Medical Colleges under NRI Quota in Himachal – There is not much demand of NRI Quota seats of Private Colleges of Himachal, hence, students with qualifying mark can also get the seat under NRI Quota, subject to fulfilment of NRI Criteria.

Selection criteria

• A separate merit list will be drawn to fill-up NRI quota seats through Centralized Counselling Committee on the basis of NEET-UG-2024 rank/score.

• After the entire NRI category (NEET-UG-2024) qualified & eligible candidates get admitted, the remaining vacancies of NRI shall be filled-up with NRI sponsored category.
