Medical students interested in studying in the nation’s capital may look at the medical colleges in Delhi. The term Delhi NCR is often used interchangeably with Delhi, which does not seem too far off either. The idea of the National Capital Region (NCR) emerged in response to the Delhi government’s proposal to redirect the city’s population growth to the areas around Delhi.
The Government’s Ministry of Urban Development established the NCR Board in 1961 with the responsibility of planning and implementing urban development projects in the 250 square kilometers immediately around the nation’s capital. Around seven private and six public or government-run institutions provide MBBS program full-time in the Delhi/National Capital Region. Some popular colleges like Maulana Azad Medical College – New Delhi, Lady Hardinge Medical College, Army College Of Medical Science.
