The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released an important press note dated 24-02-2026 regarding corrections in the CET-2026 application form.
As per the official notice
Karnataka-UGCET-Correction in A…
, candidates who have already submitted their CET-2026 application will be given an opportunity to make corrections — even after the final submission date.
This update is extremely important for MBBS aspirants applying through Karnataka.
What Exactly Has Been Announced?
According to KEA:
-
If any information provided in the CET-2026 application is found incorrect, applicants can edit and correct it.
-
Editing is allowed even after the last date for application submission.
-
However, a new application for CET-2026 will NOT be allowed.
-
The correction/editing facility will remain open until 30-03-2026.
👉 Only the information in the final submitted version will be saved on the server.
So students must carefully verify all details before the deadline.
Special Important Update for Scheduled Caste (SC) Candidates
The notice also highlights an important instruction for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates:
-
SC candidates must obtain a caste certificate with internal reservation details printed (Category-A, Category-B, Category-C).
-
The RD number from that certificate must be entered correctly in the online application.
-
The application editing portal will remain open until 30-03-2026 for entering the correct RD number.
-
Only candidates who have entered the RD number correctly will be considered for seat allotment under that category.
If the RD number is not entered properly, category benefits may not be considered during seat allotment.
Why This Matters for MBBS Students
Many MBBS aspirants lose their seat opportunities due to:
-
Incorrect category details
-
Reservation errors
-
Mistakes in uploaded documents
-
Wrong RD number entry
Even a small error can affect:
-
Government quota consideration
-
NRI quota eligibility
-
Private college seat allotment
That is why it is extremely important to correct any mistakes before 30 March 2026.
