Gujarat MBBS 2026: Government & Private College Fees, Seats, and NRI Quota Explained

Students planning for MBBS admission in 2026 often get confused about Gujarat’s government colleges, private colleges, total seats, fees, and NRI quota structure.
To simplify everything, MCMF has launched a state-wise MBBS information series, starting with Gujarat.

This complete guide covers:

  • Total MBBS seats in Government & Private Colleges

  • Fee structure under Government Quota & Management Quota

  • NRI Quota seats and USD fee structure

  • GMERS vs 100% Private Institutions

  • Why NRI admissions in Gujarat can be challenging

Let’s get started.

📺 Watch the Full Video Explanation

1️⃣ Government Medical Colleges in Gujarat — Seats & Fees

Gujarat has a strong government medical infrastructure with 8 Government Medical Colleges.

✔ Total Government Seats: 14,458

✔ Government Fees

  • ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 per year
Very affordable, which is why cut-offs go extremely high for government seats.

2️⃣ Private Medical Colleges in Gujarat — Seats & Structure

Private MBBS colleges in Gujarat are divided into two categories:

A. GMERS Colleges

(Self-Financed Government Institutions)

B. 100% Private Medical Colleges

✔ Total Private Seats (GMERS + Private): 5,750

✔ Total Institutions: 34

3️⃣ Fee Structure in Private Colleges (Government Quota vs Management Quota)

Gujarat’s private medical colleges have two types of fees:

A. Government Quota Fees (in Private Colleges)

  • Starts from ₹3,75,000 per year

  • Goes up to ₹11,20,000 per year

  • These seats have very high cut-offs because fees are comparatively low.

B. Management Quota Fees (Private Colleges)

Fees vary by institution:

  • GMERS Colleges: Around ₹1,00,000 per year

  • Other Private Colleges:

    • ₹2,00,000 per year

    • ₹20,00,000 per year

    • Up to ₹21,00,000 per year

Management fees differ widely across institutions — students must compare carefully before choosing.

4️⃣ NRI Quota in Gujarat — Seats & Fees Breakdown

Now the most important part — NRI Quota MBBS admissions in Gujarat.

Gujarat has three segments when it comes to NRI seats:

A. NRI Seats in GMERS (Self-Financed Govt. Institutions)

  • 13 GMERS colleges

  • Total NRI Seats: 315

  • Fee: 25,000 USD per year

B. NRI Seats in Municipal Medical Colleges

These include:

  1. Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education & Research (SMIMER)

  2. N.C. Desai Municipal Medical College

  3. NHL Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad

  • Total Seats: 106

  • Fees: 32,000 – 42,188 USD per year

These colleges have higher-quality infrastructure and higher NRI fees.

❌ No NRI Seats in Government Medical Colleges of Gujarat

Gujarat’s 8 Government Medical Colleges do NOT have NRI quota.

C. NRI Seats in Fully Private Colleges (100% Private Institutions)

  • 17 Medical Colleges

  • Total Seats: 408

  • Fees: 25,000 – 36,000 USD per year, depending on the college

These colleges offer the largest number of NRI seats in the state.

5️⃣ Understanding Establishment Year (Very Important for Choosing Colleges)

Students often ignore the establishment year, but it plays a major role:

  • Older colleges have better hospitalsexperienced faculty, and stronger patient flow

  • Newer colleges may have developing infrastructure

In the video, each college’s year of establishment is displayed to help you make an informed decision.

6️⃣ NRI Admission in Gujarat — Why It’s Challenging

NRI quota in Gujarat is known for:

  • Strict documentation requirements

  • High rejection rate

  • Complex eligibility rules

  • Multiple category verifications (GMERS, Municipal, Private)

But one important fact:

MCMF has 12+ years of experience in handling NRI admissions — with ZERO rejections.

Hundreds of students have already secured seats in Gujarat through MCMF under NRI quota and are currently pursuing MBBS or PG.

If you are planning for MBBS 2026 under NRI Quota, expert assistance is strongly recommended.

⭐ Conclusion: Gujarat MBBS 2026 Breakdown

Category Seats Fee Range
