🩺 Why Uttarakhand Round 4 Matters for NRI Students

Uttarakhand introduced the 15% NRI Quota late in the counselling timeline for two colleges:

✔️ Shri Guru Ram Rai Medical College (SGRR), Dehradun

✔️ Gautam Buddha Medical College

Both colleges have dedicated NRI seats, and Round 4 is open for fresh NRI applicants.

📌 NRI Students: Important Instructions

✔️ 1. Document Verification at College Level

Unlike other states, Uttarakhand requires NRI candidates to go directly to the allotted college for verification:

• If your preferred college is SGRR, verify documents at SGRR.

• If your options include Gautam Buddha, verify there.

📍 Verification is NOT done at the university; it is strictly college-based.

✔️ 2. Seat Allotment Will NOT Be Done by Colleges

Many parents misunderstood this.

🔴 Seat allotment is controlled ONLY by the Counselling Committee, not by colleges.

Colleges conduct only:

• Document verification

• Eligibility confirmation

Allotment will be done centrally.

📜 Documents Required for NRI Verification

(As per standard NRI guidelines; bring originals)

• Passport of student/parent/sponsor

• Visa/Residence permit

• Sponsorship affidavit

• NRI status certificate

• Embassy/NRI bank account proof

• Relationship proof (first or second degree)

• NEET scorecard

• 10th & 12th marksheets

• Other documents specified by the committee

Apart from NRI candidates, Uttarakhand has also opened Round 4 (Stray Round) for non-NRI categories.

❗ 1. Original Documents Are Mandatory

If you fail to submit originals, you cannot claim your allotted seat.

❗ 2. This Is the Final Round

Uttarakhand has clearly declared:

“There will be NO further rounds after Round 4.”

All remaining seats after this round will be converted as per State Government policy.

This means:

• Reserved seats may convert to General

• NRI seats may convert if unfilled (as per policy)

❗ 3. Seat Conversion Rules Apply After This Round

All unfilled seats automatically convert based on state rules — no extra chance will be given later.
