MCC has released a new notification on 19 November regarding NEET PG Round 1 counselling.
The circular includes three important points and updated schedule dates that every PG aspirant must understand.
Let’s break it down step-by-step.
📌 MCC NEET PG 2025 – 19 November Notification: Key Points
1️⃣ 239 New PG Seats Added
A total of 239 new PG seats (DM/MD/MS/other specialities) from various Deemed Universities were newly sanctioned by NMC and have now been added to the seat matrix.
This is why MCC had previously announced an extension — because the updated seat matrix was awaited.
2️⃣ 235 PG DNB Seats Withdrawn
MCC has also withdrawn 235 DNB seats, which include:
-
186 Government DNB seats
-
49 Private DNB seats
These seats will not be available for allotment in Round 1.
3️⃣ More Seats Will Be Added in Round 2
MCC has confirmed that newly sanctioned MD/MS/Deemed University seats (which are still under process) will be added to the seat matrix during Round 2.
This means Round 2 will have more seats than Round 1.

Rectified Seat Matrix Released

19 November — Fresh updated matrix has been published.
1️⃣ Choice Filling (Revised Dates)
-

-

Students must fill and lock choices within this timeline.
2️⃣ Round 1 Result Date
-
22 November
The Round 1 allotment result will be published on the same day for all states.
3️⃣ Reporting Window (Round 1)
-
23 November – 1 December
Students must report to the allotted college and complete admission formalities within this period.
🔍 Important Insight: When Will the Cutoff Percentile Be Reduced?
A very important point in the notification relates to percentile reduction.
Why percentile gets reduced?
-
After Round 1 & 2 reporting, many speciality seats remain vacant
-
Colleges request MCC/NMC to lower the qualifying percentile so that more students are eligible
-
This helps fill vacant MD/MS/DNB seats across India
When will the percentile be reduced this year?
Percentile will go down only after Round 2 reporting is completed.
Because Round 1 and Round 2 schedules have shifted and extended,
the percentile reduction will also be delayed.
This is a crucial insight for students waiting for the reduced cutoff.
